Traditional Chinese Recipes

  The appeal of Chinese cuisine has taken over Western culture. People who taste Chinese food find it good and economical as well. It strikes a chord with most people and the primary reason is the various flavors that are contained in one dish.                                        

Some traditional Chinese recipes

Chicken Chow Mein

Ingredients

Egg noodle – 4 strips
Garlic clove -2
Spring onions – 6 Chopped
Beans -1 cup
Chicken – 2 cups
Soy sauce – 1 tablespoon
Chopped onion – ½ cup
Vinegar – 2 to 3 tablespoon
Oil – 1 cup
Salt – According to taste

Method

First boil the chicken and then cut into small pieces. Keep the noodles in hot water for 5-7 minutes and drain. Next step is to add the ingredients. Put oil in the pan and add the onions, chicken and beans to it. Then, add the noodles to the mixture and stir fry for a few minutes. The color of the mixture will let you know when to stop frying them. The next step is to add the soy sauce, vinegar and salt. Again, stir fry for 5-7 minutes.

Chicken Chop Suey

Ingredients

Chicken breast – ½ cup
Chinese cabbage – ½ cup
Chopped celery – ½ cup
Chopped onion – ½ cup
Beans – ½ cup
Grated ginger – ½ tablespoon
Freshly grounded pepper – ¼ tablespoon
Cornstarch -1 tablespoon
Crushed garlic – 2 cloves
Oil – 3 tablespoon
Soy sauce – 2 tablespoon
Salt – According to taste
Water as required

Method

First heat the oil in the pan and add chicken pieces to it. Fry until the chicken pieces are cooked and then keep it separately. Cooking the chicken will take more time so the idea is to prepare it first and then complete the next steps.

Use the same oil in the pan and fry the chopped onions, cabbage, celery, ginger and beans in it. Then, add the already fried chicken to the vegetable mixture. Continue cooking until the pieces are soft. Use medium heat for cooking. Then, add the soy sauce, cornstarch, water and pepper to the mixture. This will thicken the dish. Simmer for about one minute.
