Weird, strange, and exotic food from Asia
There are many weird food around the world, and Asia probably has some of the weirdest, strangest, and most exotic of them all. Here are some examples:
Mealworms served in Thailand
If you don’t like yours sauteed, how about a serving of fried mealworms?
Grasshoppers are very crunchy and tasty. They taste just like shrimps.
Do you enjoy honey? Then you should try their larvae. Very sweet and soft.
Crickets are served in many Southeast Asian countries. The Chinese love them too.
There are others including scorpions, locus, etc.
Without ever leaving the US, you can go to any Chinese dim sum restaurant and ask for a portion of chicken feet.
Chicken anus – I hear that they make your less intelligent, but if that is something that you’re not too worried about, it shouldn’t be a problem.
Frog legs taste like chicken.
If you’re more adventurous and have more income, try the frog ovary soup. This soup helps with your sexual and reproductive prowness.
Seafood more your fare? How about starfish and seahorse?
Electric eels are very tasty. You have seen them served in sushi, but you have to eat them whole like this to appreciate the texture and wholesomeness of eels.
Sea urchins look difficult to consume, but if you have the courage to dig deep beyond those sharp needles, a great piece of seafood awaits you.
Of course, dogs, cats, snake and anything else that move are considered delicacies, but I would not rather go there.
