Bayer CropScience Highlights Food Chain Partnerships at Asia Fruit Logistica
New projects and Nunhems portfolio attract top decision-makers in fruit and vegetable marketing
Monheim - Bayer CropScience presented new "food chain partnerships" at the Asia Fruit Logistica, the International Trade Fair for Fruit and Vegetable Marketing in Asia, from September 2 to 4, 2009, in Hong Kong. For the third year in a row, Bayer CropScience attracted numerous visitors to its stand highlighting not only more than 20 food chain partnership projects but also the extensive Nunhems vegetable seed portfolio.

With the Korean Potato Project, HAITAI Confectionery & Foods, a major player in the Korean potato chip industry, and Bayer CropScience teamed up to supply best quality potato chips to Asian consumers. The project aims to support Korean potato farmers in the safer and more efficient application of good agrochemicals.

In China, Bayer CropScience worked out a customized citrus spray program together with Edgar M. Bronfman Citrus Company (EMBC), an US-based citrus grower and orange juice processor, and the local Fruit Industry Bureau (FIB). With the Chinese Chongqing Citrus Project, farmers in the Chongqing area benefit from the optimized use of plant protection products to increase yield and quality of their citriculture.
This year, Asia Fruit Logistica took place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in conjunction with the 12th Asiafruit Congress, combining the experience of Asia Fruit Logistica with Asia’s premier conference and networking event for the international fresh produce business. More than 200 exhibitors from 31 countries attracted over 3,400 top decision-makers from 52 countries.
